We offer grants to bridge the gap between insurance payouts and actual rebuild costs—often $200,000-$400,000.
Insurance payouts often fall short. That’s why the “House to Home Program” offers grants to cover the remaining cost to rebuild - often between $200K–$400K. Grant funding is available to cover the gap between insurance and actual rebuild costs.

Hoʻōla LTRG is proud to announce our House to Home Program — supporting families whose homes are being rebuilt through Hoʻōla LTRG and our MDS partner with $8,000–$25,000 in assistance for beds, kitchen supplies, dining tables, and more.
Because returning home is about more than four walls. It’s about comfort, dignity, and creating new memories.
For homeowners impacted by faulty or incomplete construction, Hoʻōla LTRG provides a full assessment of your current build, outlines the remaining work needed, and creates a plan to help you safely complete your home and return. We also help identify community resources to address funding gaps.
Program eligibility requires applicants to take key accountability steps, including filing a police report, pursuing a RICO complaint, issuing a termination letter to the contractor, and providing a clear history of contracts, payments, and remaining funds.
Hoʻōla LTRG is accepting Disaster Case Management (DCM) referrals for owner-occupied homes impacted by the 2026 Kona Low storms. Once cleanup, muck-out, and mold remediation are complete, our team—alongside trusted rebuild partners—may provide essential repairs including roofing, drywall, flooring, cabinetry, and more. Homes that were fully destroyed may also be considered for rebuild support. If a case qualifies and funding is available, the impacted homeowner and assigned DCM will be notified. Contact 211 for DCM services.

The Keep Lahaina Home program provides grants to bridge those financial gaps for ‘ohana whose insurance proceeds have fallen short, making rebuilding possible for more local families. The typical financial gap for homeowners ranges from $200,000 to $400,000, although that shifts along with construction material prices and labor costs.
If you need support: Connect with us for rebuild guidance, contractor vetting, help navigating permits and septic conversions, or exploring affordable housing options like ADUs. We're here when construction delays happen or barriers arise.
